Amazing GraceHave you ever heard the story behind the very popular hymn "Amazing Grace"? I had heard the story behind the hymn "How Great Thou Art" "It Is Well with My Soul" by Horatio Spafford, but that was about it. (In a nut shell that story is about a man who lost his entire family in a ship wreck and after hearing the news wrote the hymn "How Great Thou Art" "It Is Well with My Soul" - a wonderful example of the grace of God working in a man's life.)

But this song, "Amazing Grace" is also very interesting. A man named John Newton who lived in England during the late 18th-century was a slave trader. Read the rest of this entry »

Temple Restored
2nd TempleThe temple in Jerusalem was first built by King Solomon. After it was destroyed by the Babylonians, the restoration of the temple was led by Zerubbabel and others. This task of restoration was accomplished by people who were just set free from captivity in an enemy state. What a feat! How did they do it? The book of Ezra gives us an insight into how this monumental task was achieved; by unity. The conquered and weakened people had one common goal and one common hope; restoration of the temple of the LORD.

Now we ask "what about us?" What do we get to do together in the New testament? Apostle Paul shows us the hope and the goal that we Christians must have today. For the rest of the story, please listen to this podcast.
