Wow, it's been ~2 months since the last post! This time, I have a good reason: I am defending my PhD on June 19th and my dissertation was due on May 29th. All of the PhD stuff has been keeping me busy.
However, I just wanted to at least post this one thing mainly so that I will remember what I recently learned from the 1st book of Samuel.
Morever as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way.1Samuel 12:23, KJV
I have studied 1Samuel carefully before and no doubt read through this verse at least a couple of times. Yet, I NEVER noticed what it says here. The Word of God is amazing: every time you read it, there is a gem you didn't notice last time. With the cares and business of this world, I have ceased to pray for many people that God has given me to pray for. I haven't been praying for many of the people I've ministered to at church, work, and other places. I publicly repent of this, and I ask that if you're reading this and you know our Lord Jesus, please pray for me about this matter.
Truly, the Word of God is living. "God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you." These words cut my heart like a two-edged sword and they continually are present in my mind these days. My prayer is that this Scripture will touch some of you who may be in a similar situation. If God has given us an opportunity to minister to somebody, we must continue to pray for them until the Lord releases us from it (if He does at all). Lord, thank You for this privilege!
