PhD and Facebook
pooSo June 19 was my "defense" day and I defended my PhD dissertation. +6 years ago, when I wasn't a believer, I thought it would be the biggest day in my life when I obtain the doctorate status. However, it is amazing how a brand new world view changes how you feel about things. In the eternal perspective that I now have thanks to the Holy Spirit, this is an insignificant thing and every time people asked me how I felt about getting this degree, I had to be honest: I don't really feel any different! My only concern on the subject: I am hoping and praying that having this degree will only help my evangelism for Jesus. I used to share with some people about my hesitation for having a PhD since I felt that it would shut the doors for reaching out to certain people. Now that I have it, I am not completely free of this concern, but I trust the Lord can sort it out.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung (poop), that I may win Christ. (Philippians 3:8, parenthetical comment mine)

On a different note, after getting a few requests to join Facebook and seeing that some people that I respect are already on it, I've decided to create my own account. Interestingly, my email address was already in the system! I hope that this will be a positive thing as well. If you are a minister for the Lord and you find Facebook useful or distasteful, please share your thoughts here. Thanks.

I believe those are like made of cloth like stuffed animals. Can’t say that I recommend buying them for kids’ birthdays.
