Because it matters

Have you ever heard the story behind the very popular hymn "Amazing Grace"? I had heard the story behind the hymn "How Great Thou Art" "It Is Well with My Soul" by Horatio Spafford, but that was about it. (In a nut shell that story is about a man who lost his entire family in a ship wreck and after hearing the news wrote the hymn "How Great Thou Art" "It Is Well with My Soul" - a wonderful example of the grace of God working in a man's life.)

But this song, "Amazing Grace" is also very interesting. A man named John Newton who lived in England during the late 18th-century was a slave trader. Read the rest of this entry »
